Register for our November Lobby Weekend ‼

Happy half-way through the semester! Dropping you a note from the middle of my 2-day long "Fall Break" to remind you about our Lobby Weekend coming up on November 12 and 13.

The conference will take place at Impact Hub DC in Washington D.C. and will start on Sunday with a day of educational panels and activities (read: fun!). We'll teach you all you need to know to take action on the behalf of groups facing atrocities in Burma and Yemen and break down President Trump's recent refugee quota so that you're prepared to speak about it in your meetings on the Hill. We'll also prep you to advocate for the Elie Wiesel Genocide and Atrocities Prevention Act & teach you how to design an advocacy campaign in your home community.

We'll practice constituent meetings in advance of our Lobby Day on the Hill. On Monday, we'll all attend meetings in our home Senators’ and Representatives’ offices to advocate for our priorities as students interested in atrocity crime prevention and conflict resolution. In a nutshell, you'll get to learn about some of the most pressing ongoing conflicts in the world, design your own campaign and action strategy, and have face-to-face interactions with staffers working on these issues on the Hill. Have I mentioned STAND members are also **really cool** and **really nice** and **really fun**?

Registration details can be found here and our Penny Pinching Guide to D.C. (if you, like me, are on a #budget) can be found here.

See you in 24 days!

As always, Sav - Savannah Wooten Student Director University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill '18
