Genocide Watch staff have published the twentieth Timestream in a series of critical genocides in the world. This Timestream tracks the historical, political, social, and military events that led to one of the most horrendous mass killings in history, the Rwandan Genocide in 1994. The genocide in Rwanda lasted only 100 days but left roughly 800,000 Tutsis, moderate Hutus, and Twa dead. Findings suggest that extremist media, ongoing civil war, an existing authoritarian regime, and meek international political will were the primary culprits in allowing this genocide to unfold. See the full Timestream here and view our other Timestreams here.
