Stage 3: Discrimination and Stage 10: Denial

Lebanon has failed to attain justice for the victims of its deadly civil war that lasted from 1975-1990 and resulted in the disappearance of 17,000 and the loss of over 150,000 lives. Lebanon has been witnessing massive protests against corruption, government failure during the 2020 Bierut blasts and a collapsing economy. The security forces illegally detain and torture protestors. The LGBTQ community continues to face harassment and persecution by the security forces. Women, especially migrant women, suffer due to the discriminatory practices prevalent in the country.
