Details
Indigenous peoples inhabited Canada for thousands of years, but colonization efforts from European white settlers – particularly the English and French – have threatened these Native populations since the 16th century. Today, Indigenous activists and communities across Canada have called on the government for apologies, reparations, acknowledgment, and legislative change.
