Details

Indonesian security forces are accused of extrajudicial killings, rape, and torture of ethnic West Papuans. Military operations in West Papua have displaced over 105,000 people. The Indonesian government discriminates against minority religious groups via the 1965 Blasphemy law and other regulations on religious practices. Islamist militants in Indonesia are also known to attack minority religious groups. There is continued social hostility and political rhetoric against minorities such as LGBTQ+.
