Details
Since 1975, Laos has been ruled by a one-party communist government that suppresses dissent and restricts freedoms. Ethnic minorities like the Hmong and religious minorities, especially Christians, face systematic discrimination, forced displacement, and state violence. The government seizes ancestral lands, conducts military offensives, and restricts humanitarian access, raising serious concerns about ongoing persecution and risks of genocide.
