NOBEL LAUREATES CALL ON SECURITY COUNCIL TO AID ROHINGYA

On December 29, Jody Williams, Shirin Ebadi, Mairead Maguire, Leymah Gbowee and Tawkkol Karman joined Nobel Laureates and leaders from around the world in an open letter to the United Nations Security Council. The letter called on Security Council member countries to end the violence against the Rohingya in Burma. Offensives by the Myanma Army in Rakhine State have caused the displacement of 30,000 people and killed hundreds — but access to humanitarian aid has been denied.
