Bolivia faces socio-political crises fueled by state impunity and judicial politicization following the 2019 Senkata and Sacaba massacres. In the Amazon, lowland Indigenous communities face severe threats from logging, agricultural expansion, and gold mining cooperatives using toxic mercury that bypass TIOC land guarantees and FPIC principles. Additionally, women and children suffer from rampant gender-based violence and femicide, while human rights defenders and journalists endure routine physical violence and criminalization from state security forces and organized civilian groups.
